Maggie Valley is a rugged and charming mountain town. Maggie Valley features many unique restaurants and shops.  Outside of town there are hiking trails for all ability levels and some of the best waterfalls in the area.  Many other outdoor recreation opportunities exist from hunting to skiing.  Truly something for everyone in Maggie Valley!

For those who want a vacation that is off the beaten path, a peaceful retreat, and a true slice of mountain life, Maggie Valley is an excellent choice. Additionally, this little town is also home to one of the best ski resorts in North Carolina, the Cataloochee Ski Area, with 18 ski slopes and trails of all difficulty levels and one of the longest seasons in the Southeast. 

Another great reason to visit Maggie Valley is the wildlife, particularly the fact that it’s one of the only places you can see elk in the American Southeast. The elk population was restored to the nearby Cataloochee valley, and have been known to wander out around Maggie Valley.
